As mentioned on facebook, today my co-teacher came in wearing an outfit I'd classify as "slutwear". Though I'm not sure anyone really cares except me.
I don't want this blog to become one lengthy diatribe about how I hate my job and miss working with professionals, so here are some things that are awesome about my job:
My co-teacher is a mother of two and both of them have open classes this week, so she's gone for two, or maybe even three, afternoons to observe. It's so peaceful!
Okay, I'm really done now, I promise. On to the cute kid stories.
When we do the date, a few of the grade threes keep confusing October and octopus and telling me that, for example, today is Tuesday, Octopus 16th, 2012. It's adorable.
Dong-hun in grade two participates in at least half the activities now and often raises his hand. I tried doing one of those ball-under-the-cups games a couple of weeks ago in the after-school class. You know, where the ball goes under one cup and the cups are switched around and you have to remember where the ball is. It's online, so all I have to do is click, and it puts a picture over each cup so you can use it to practice whatever target language you're going for. Well, Dong-hun went nuts for that game and wanted to stand immediately beside me and pick out all the answers. He wasn't the only one, but definitely the most eager. I kept telling them to go sit down and he'd repeat after me, at the other kids, "SIT DOWN!" Um... I mean you too, buddy.
I'm a few polishes away from finishing up my book, or at least the final draft of my book as far as I'm concerned. No doubt if I do find a publisher they'll want some input too, though I really just want to shift the burden onto someone else's shoulders now. At least I've finished going through and changing stuff based on my editors' input, and I celebrated that (silently) when I was done because it's so very, very tedious. Writing the thing was enjoyable. Editing it is a chore.
